I’ve been to this Boudin SF for sourdough and lunch in Huntington Beach a few times. This is a great location with good, helpful staff and there’s usually parking available in their lot.
Twice I’ve met friends for lunch at Boudin SF in Huntington and the food and service was above par both times.
Much like any fast food establishment, you line up to order from the counter, fill your own drinks at the drink station, and get a table. Instead of collecting your food at the counter, they bring out your meal to your table.
The soup served in a hollowed-out Boudin SF sourdough bread bowl (boule) is a favourite, as I’m mad for their tangy sourdough, and their soups are hearty and good. It’s an individual size loaf. You can eat the soup and tear off parts of the bread as you go, or when you finish the soup. It makes for a good accompaniment.
This time I had the tuna fish sandwich and enjoyed it. The bread bowl with soup still wins, in my books!
I’ve also enjoyed taking a loaf or two home with me. If you like tangy San Francisco style sourdough, Boudin SF makes a terrific loaf to bring home with you. The raisin bread is also great. You can buy them at the counter when ordering your lunch or pick them up on your way out.
Have I told you about the time my luggage weighed too much at the airport? I had to remove 5 pounds from my checked bag. I took out the Boudin SF sourdough loaves, and the bag instantly became the perfect weight.
