Naugles by the Beach in Huntington Beach

Naugles by the Beach in Huntington Beach is here!

I am dancing with joy that someone bought the Naugles name and is on a mission to recreate the flavours and menu of the original Naugles.

Naugles isn’t your typical burger place, although I guess it could be. Where it excels is in combining the flavours of Mexican food into American fast food.

Naugles building from the parking lot

This location is on the beach so it’s tricky to get to if just coming for a nosh. The Fountain Valley Naugles location is not as fun, but definitely easier to get to and more reliably open than this beach location.

You may find metered street parking along PCH (Pacific Coast Highway), or pay the guys in the parking booth if you want to use the beach lot and drive up close.

It’s so worth it.

The Bun Taco at Naugles on the Beach

The Bun Taco and Taco Salad Cup are like a blast from the past for those of us who grew up with Naugles.

The Bun Taco has all the ingredients of a fast-food taco, but on a steamed hamburger bun instead of a taco shell.

The Taco Salad Cup with tortilla chips at Naugles on the Beach

The Naugles by the Beach Taco Salad Cup is literally served in a cup. It’s a salad, with taco stuff on it. So taco meat, shredded cheese, tomatoes, sour cream. And they serve it with tortilla chips so you won’t miss out on the taco shell, either.

There are other things on the menu, but you guys are going to have to tell me about them in the comments below, because I get out here so rarely that this has been all I’ve had. Please tell us what you love, below.

Outdoor dining tables with umbrellas

There’s a decent amount of seating and umbrella tables along the side. You should be able to order at the window and still find a seat unless the beach is really busy that day. There’s no inside seating. While we were there the crowds came in and soon enough there were people sitting at most of these tables.

They’re open daily from 10am-6pm, but don’t be surprised if it happens to be closed. They are on a beach, facing the sand, so weather is a factor. Here’s the disclaimer from their website:

“Due to the unique circumstances of the beach location there may be variations in hours from time to time and unexpected closures due to extreme weather, crowd size, and other factors. This is a seasonal location. If you happen to find it closed please be aware that you are not far away from our full-time location in Fountain Valley.”

If you can’t get to Naugles by the Beach, try out the Fountain Valley location, and let us know which one you like best.
