At the Staybridge Suites Hamilton – Downtown hotel we were assigned a Studio on the 3rd floor, facing an inner courtyard. It was quiet.
This is an all-suite hotel.
The Rooms at Staybridge Suites Hamilton – Downtown
The kitchen amenities are perfect. There’s a full-size refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, pans, and even a pitcher to make juice.
A pack of complimentary microwave popcorn and a good-sized bowl in the cupboard to use for the popcorn pleased my husband to no end.
The TV is a small-ish Samsung flat screen with a good picture. It can be angled/adjusted to point towards the couch or the bed. We couldn’t figure out how to turn off the closed captioning.
The closet has normal (removable) hangers which are so much easier to use than the trapped hangers which must stay on the closet rod, like so many other hotels.
There are nightstands are on both sides of bed, which is great, as it is no longer a given in hotels and yet both of us need them.
The bed only has sheets on it, but we found a blanket in the closet and the thermostat was set in the 70’s, so while it was cold outside, the room was warm and we were comfortable.
The work desk is comfortable and has an ergonomic chair. The hotel offers free Wi-Fi.
A big plus – there are many plugs throughout the room in convenient places. This is a real win for the Staybridge Suites Hamilton – Downtown.
Breakfast and Dinner at Staybridge Suites Hamilton – Downtown
The morning breakfast buffet included a good variety of hot and cold, savory and sweet, healthy and indulgent items. They have both dark and mild roast coffee, and good quality teas.
If you’re in the hotel Monday to Wednesday, there’s a complementary light dinner offered, too.
A Pool and Fitness Centre
Bring your swimsuit, as there’s a heated indoor pool. And while we didn’t explore it, there’s also a fitness centre.
Parking and Location
Parking is secured, underground and convenient, though it’s an extra $12.
The Staybridge Suites Hamilton – Downtown is a convenient location for FirstOntario concerts/shows, as it’s a short walk, or a quick cab ride.
