Capt Cook’s at the Polynesian Hotel in Orlando

We were excited by the menu at Capt Cook’s at the Polynesian Hotel in Walt Disney World Resort. We found out that the execution was just so-so.

Here’s a picture of the Aloha Pork Sandwich. It sounds good on the menu.

pulled pork sandwich with fries from Capt Cook's at the Polynesian Hotel

Capt Cook’s chefs make the Aloha Pork Sandwich with pulled pork on a very good brioche bun with cheddar, Asian coleslaw, cucumbers (odd) and tomato. The long thick slices of cucumbers wilt from the heat of the pork and then cool the whole sandwich, to boot. The sandwich comes with fries, which were typical quick-service fries, and nothing special.

We split the sandwich and the Pan Asian Noodles and Vegetables with Chicken (pictured at the top of the page) from Capt Cook’s at the Polynesian Hotel.

Both were just okay.

Here are some other places to try in Orlando.
