If you want to have a dram of whisky in Glasgow, you can’t go wrong by visiting The Pot Still. In 2019, Whisky Magazine named them Whisky Icons Scotland Whisky Bar of The Year.
When we made our way to Scotland, we asked around until we found a wonderful whisky shop which does tutored tastings and whisky masterclasses. We were unable to join one of the tastings or courses during our stay. But we were able to get a recommendation from them for The Pot Still, an amazing pub to enjoy a variety of whiskys.
Whether you’re a whisky lover with a refined palette or new to whisky, you’ll have your choice of over 600 (now 700+) whiskies at this specialty pub.
They specialize in single malt, single grain or single rye whiskies.
There are bottles on bottles of all kinds of whisky. And the people behind the bar, can, if engaged in the right way, roll up the ladder and climb to a high shelf to find you a new favourite.
If you’re not wanting a dram of whisky in Glasgow, they also serve beer (even whisky-barrel aged beer) in the bottle and use traditional handpumps to draw the beer on tap.
Here are some other places to try when you’re in Scotland.
Enjoyed May 2015.
