Park Pantry in Long Beach is a go-to whenever I’m in town.
If you arrive when there’s a wait, you can help yourself to coffee. Add your name and party size to the clipboard at the front.
The daily specials are usually your best bet, too, so check the board on your way in.
The breakfasts are wonderful.
My favourite dish on the menu is the Skillet Gourmet. Eggs mixed with fresh spinach, zucchini, mushrooms and tomato. Topped with melted cheddar and a scoop of guacamole. Accompanied by your choice of toast (sourdough toast for me) and homemade apple (or the flavour of the day) jam, plus hash browns or fresh fruit.
It’s a yummy way to get your vegetables into your diet. Plus, the fresh house-made jam, not that packaged stuff, is so much better on your toast.
On your way out, you can pick up fresh bakery items including a devastating cinnamon pull-apart bread the Park Pantry in Long Beach is famous for.
Here are some other places to try in Long Beach.
Enjoyed for many years.
