I really wanted to like the Taqueria La Mexicana in Long Beach. It’s convenient and would be nice to have another good Mexican place to go.
Overall this place was OK.
We had a sampling of different things.
I tried the Campechana.
Campechana at Taqueria La Mexicana is a cold soup of shrimp, abalone, octopus, tomato, onion, cilantro and avocado. It was good but not notable.
The dining area is a little grungy but not overly dirty. We were happy to have a roof above us and some cover from the cold.
Note that the place accepts cash only and they have a private ATM on site in case you need it.
