We enjoyed our stop at this cozy cafe to have lunch in Orangeville, Ontario.
The staff are welcoming, and set our expectations that food might take a bit longer than we expected when we told them we had an event to get to.
The Ribeye Steak Sandwich ($13) was delicious, but a bit over cooked for me, although I’d asked for Medium Rare. It’s a thin steak and tricky to get right.
Side orders, like Sweet Potato Fries, are a la carte for another $4.
Pretty peonies dot the tables. The décor gives the place a well-used (but clean) feel, with its long farm tables for bigger groups and scrubbed square wooden tables for 2 or 4.
Wall shelves hold vintage white dishes, cups and saucers. A homey stack of magazines tucked beside a table allows one to ease into the afternoon.
This may not be the place for lunch in Orangeville for those in a rush or without a reservation, as a rule. Although we got in and out in under an hour.
Street parking is convenient, and well marked. When it’s busy, like it was on this Saturday (with the Farmer’s Market) it may take some searching for a spot.
Here are some other places to try in Ontario.
Enjoyed June, 2018.
