This charming little crepes restaurant, La Cidrerie du Marais, is in the heart of the Marais neighbourhood in Paris. The menu board is outside, and lists both the savoury and sweet crepes.
The restaurant was packed both inside and out on the patio the first time we walked by. We came back a little later and were able to squeeze into a small table with the help of a lovely proprietor.
La Cidrerie du Marais is almost always busy, and they have about 20 tables, but they’ll make a good effort to seat you.
Yes, There are Stinky Cheese Crepes in Paris
We ordered crepes for dinner, adventuring into the savoury ones filled with unique ingredients and cheeses. This included a strong-smelling, strong-tasting Northern farmer cheese which was immediately not a favourite of my husband’s (incredible, since he loves cheese).
He took a few bites, really trying and wanting to like it, but ended up pushing it aside. He tried to get me to eat it and after a bite, I refused. My savoury crepe was light and perfectly made, but not memorable.
We Lived for the Dessert Crepes
Then on to the dessert crepes. Mine, a lemon sugar (citron sucre) and his a simple butter and sugar (burre sucre) crepe. We loved them both, and there was not a crumb left on the plates. Well, maybe a lemon.
We came back twice more while we were in town, opting to eat just the dessert crepes, and all experiences were wonderful for food and service.
